The 1st Sadowski
Training Course Rocks 7-8/2/2009
When BG invited Dave Sadowski to come all the way from the US to
Zhuhai, China to run a advance Motorcycle Racing Training
course,we’re worried that many racers and riders might not be
interested and many intermediate riders will feel this course
might be too advance for their own comfort.
But once the Sadowski Course was posted at BG’s Forum, we’d got
some amazing response from quite a lot of members and at a
beginning plans of a small group around 10 students, the entries
has grown too big to be accommodated into 1 course alone, so a
2nd 2 days BG-Sadowski Training course was added on 12-13/2/09.
By Mid week the entries for the 1st course has grown to 15
riders, so it was decided that BG will have to run these courses
with all
of our 4 instructors : Sadowski, Kareem, Uli and Dubang so that
these riders will be split up into 3 different levels groups so
each
group will run at their own pace.
Dave arrived to Hong Kong on the early morning of 3/Feb/09 and
after meeting up with Arlen Ness/Berik Boss Mauricio in his Hong
Kong HQ, then a tour of the BG Hong Kong operation, BG boss
Steven and Dave traveled to Zhuhai and begin Greater China’s
1st ever Advance Super bike Training Course with Top Pro
Instructors and Championship winning Rider’s such as Dave
Sadowski.
The Friday was spend on Dave meeting all the BG staffs, then
going through all the School bikes with BG’s Mechanics. A couple
of BG’s members, knowing Dave was already in Zhuhai, send in
their race bikes so that David can set up the bike’s
Suspensions, so that a intense suspension set up course was
given to all the BG Mechanics.
The Training course started on Sat morning at 9.15 am, 15 Riders
presented themselves at the Course and the morning was spend on
the initiation of the course and David was given his 5 point
lecturing courses in details. The presentation was precise,
informative,
powerful and combined with details drawing on the white board,
accompanied with BG Motorsport Director Kareem and senior
instructor and engineer Uli providing more data and tech detail
support to the course.
At the 1st track session of the day, 15 riders were divided into
3 groups according to their levels, Dave, Kareem, Uli each lead
a
group out to the track and BG’s Pro Rider Dubang was the lone
ranger picking up drop off riders that needs special riding
support..
6 x V-cam with remote Lenses were installed on each of the
instructor’s bikes with some having Cams both front and rear,
will
provide real life footage of each of the riders either in front
of at the rear of the instructors so that the instructors can
give
each riders comments on their riding styles and racing lines.
Other lenses were mounted either on the seat hump so riders can
see the accurate body movement on the bike, or a lens was
mounted viewing the front wheels, suspensions so tyres, wheels
movements and Front fork travel can be seen in clear details,
one of the most useful view was the shooting of Kareem’s gear
shifting movement so that riders can see Kareem’s precise foot
movement and shifting positions.
Sadowski’s classroom sessions and all these on the track Footage
will be edited into a short film for all the students and a
later
date rider by rider viewing can be organized with Dave or Kareem
so that each riders can easily understand their mistakes and the
correct postures.
Between each of the 3 x Track sessions, all riders gathered
together at the classroom for a debriefing and many of the
riders’
problems and mistakes are pointed out and corrections were
suggested. By the end of the Sat, Everyone has delighted
with the amount of data they’d learnt and many questions were
directed to the instructors as there were just too many data to
be digested and to be put it into practice on Sunday.
Sunday
Sunday course has the same amount of track sessions and the
briefing and debriefings getting more and more technical as all
the
students has learnt a lot and has tried out the newly adopted
skill they’d learnt..
At the end of the course debriefing at Sunday late afternoon, A
BG-Sadowski Advance SBK training course certificates were issued
to all the students.
Every rider was really tired but excited although there has been
2 solid days of riding and by Sunday the 3 track sessions, every
riders were going around the ZIC Circuit at a MUCH faster pace
and much precise lines and body postures then they can ever
imagine, Everyone has learnt a lot that most data are what
they’d never known or learnt before and even with some of our
Veteran riders that has taken some advance SBK training courses
in US/EU.
The BG-Sadowski SBK Training Course has prove to be a great
Success, and the next course on the 12-13/2/09 will see many
more eager
students and especially we’d invited all the important
Press/Media/TV reporters coming to experience the course so that
they can
introduce this sport and the BG special training course to their
readers and Viewers as more or less all the people in China
still
has hardly any info on Motorcycle racing.
The Biggest Motorcycle magazine/Webzine from Hong Kong, China,
Taiwan will be there, and most important is the China Guangdong
TV Sports and Shanghai Star Sports TV Motorsport channels are
all coming to attend and filming the course, these Sport
programs will allow millions of China viewer to have a better
understanding of the sport and what we’re trying to promote.
At the 12-13/2/09 course, BG will also be running 2 Brand new
2009 Kawasaki ZX6R Super sport bikes, these bikes are for all
the
Press, Media and TV reporter to have a real life test ride on
one of the best Super sport motorcycle ever produced today so
that
they can present a most accurate report to their readers and
riders.
BG will be also doing back to back Testing on the 2 new bikes
with Ohlin’s vs oem suspensions and Performance Friction brake
pads vs oem pads.We all look forward to another great Course in
a few days time and detail report will be posted as soon as the
course is over.
We’d like to say thanks you to all the BG members and other
Superbike Riders attending this BG-Sadowski course and a special
great Big thanks to Dave, Kareem, Uli and Dubang， as in the 2
full days course, these guys have given all they have so that
more and more riders and racers can enjoy the sport that we all
have such a great passion in.
